Hello, and welcome to Grace for the Homeless.
My name is Dave Ross. After a rewarding career of more than 30 years in advertising and marketing, I retired and now work as a rideshare driver. It was through this work that my passion for helping those experiencing homelessness truly began.
Like many people, I often saw individuals living on the streets but continued on with my day without giving much thought to their circumstances. That changed when I picked up a young woman who was receiving assistance from Social Services. During our ride, she shared her heartbreaking story. She had lost her entire family in a house fire, along with everything she owned, and was now living on the streets while waiting for temporary housing.
Her story changed my perspective forever. It reminded me that every person experiencing homelessness has a unique story, and that homelessness is not always the result of drugs, alcohol, or poor choices. Sometimes, it is the result of unimaginable tragedy and circumstances beyond a person’s control. Listening to her inspired me to do what I could to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar challenges.
What Makes Us Different?
Grace for the Homeless is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness by providing everyday essentials, survival supplies, and temporary comfort while they await permanent housing. We also work to connect people with community resources that offer addiction recovery, domestic violence support, meals, housing assistance, employment services, and other critical programs designed to help them rebuild their lives.
What makes Grace for the Homeless unique is our commitment to ensuring that every dollar makes a direct impact. We have no administrative overhead. Our board members and volunteers donate their time and talents, allowing 100% of donations to go directly toward helping those in need.
Donations support items such as survival packs, tent kits, food and water, clothing, hygiene supplies, transportation, and other essential resources. These basic necessities not only provide comfort and dignity but also give individuals the opportunity to clean up, dress appropriately, and pursue employment as they work toward a better future.
As we complete the process of obtaining our nonprofit status and securing grant funding, we are launching a GoFundMe campaign to begin serving those in need immediately.
